Engineered in Germany
A high level of automation with extremely simple handling
characterizes this instrument. In addition to the isoperibol
measurement procedure (static jacket), a dynamic (reduced-time)
working method is also available.
There
are two Versions of the Calorimeter available. Version 1
includes the standard decomposition vessel C 5010 (see “Accessories”)
and Version 2 includes the halogen resistant and catalytic
activated decomposition vessel C 5012 (see “Accessories”).
To
provide the calorimeter with cooling water, it needs to
be connected to a thermostat i.e. cooling water supply KV
600 or a firmly installed water connection using the C 25
Water pressure regulating valve (see “Accessories”).
Since
the handling of the unit is most convenient by using the
cooling water supply KV 600, we have created an exclusive
Package for the US-Market that already includes it. These
Packages can not be found on the internet. The item numbers
and descriptions are:

The
Calorimeter is equipped with a very convenient console to
operate the unit. All settings and necessary experiment parameters
including special required ASTM or DIN calculations can be
done through this console.
Very important
for the customers of the US-Market is, that an instrument
is easy to service, and maintenance can be done fast. Many
customers have their own in-house engineers that take care
of the analytical equipment. Caused by the great size of
the North American continent, it is not cost and time effective
to send units through the country. This is why IKA has developed
the C 2000 especially for this Market. The unit is composed
of modules. If one fails, it can easily be replaced. This
minimizes the down-time of a unit very drastically. More
than 95% of our Service on Calorimeters is handled over
the phone with an engineer of the customer.
The
automatic water handling system handles the tempering, filling
and emptying of calorimeter inner- and outer vessel.
Oxygen is filled into the decomposition vessel automatically
.
The decomposition vessel is identified automatically as
well. This reduces the possibility of handling errors.
As soon as the unit is ready to ignite the sample, it will
initiate it automatically.
Several
interface connections allow the unit to be connected with
a balance/scale, printer, monitor, keyboard, sample rack
C 5020 and a PC or laptop.
Even
the integration into a LIMS is no Problem at all for the
IKA Calorimeters. We provide the RS 232 protocol, and the
signals can easily be adjusted to the customers LIMS.
There
are 2 different measurement modes available. Depending on
the purpose the user can choose the best mode for his individual
application.
